The MZ golf tournament raises funds to continue Marty Zolkoski’s vision of furthering educational dreams by offering high school and college students in South Texas academic scholarships. Marty served as an Executive at BlackBrush Oil & Gas and before that a Vice President of Field Services for Valero and Pipeline Operations Manager at Lewis Energy. With each role, Marty demonstrated how to lead with compassion, work with honor, and always show humility. It is in this spirit the MZ Foundation was established and through your generosity has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships to South Texas high school and college students who share Marty’s character. While he is no longer with us, Marty lives on through his family, friends, and scholarship recipients.

Our Cause

The MZ Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to South Texas High School and College students who exhibit traits that Marty Zolkoski valued such as love, compassion, honor, and humility. Additionally, awardees are selected based on criteria including their academic history, future goals, and personal hardships. All scholarships are awarded in the hope that each donation inspires continued learning and advocates the necessity of giving.
